Hello, I am Taritie, and I have decided to create a custom faction. Here is some basic information, and I hope you are interested. (Disclaimer: Most if not all of this is subject to change depending on peoples advice.)
Lore:
During the start of the second age, the men of Gondor befell and took Near Harad. Occupying it's territories and spreading their influence across the lands. During this time, the Gondorians spread their beliefs and morals to the deaf ears of the Southrons. However, not all the ears of the Haradrim were shut. Some turned from their ways of worshipping the dark lord. Many gathered and began to even trade with the Gondorians at this time.
In the third age, the men of Gondor were pushed back. All those that turned to their beliefs, tried to go to Gondor. However, they were not welcome by the Gondorians. After being forced to return to Harad, they found no place among their former kin either. They faced abandonment and slaughter, eventually fleeing into the desert.
In the desert they found safety in the lands of the red desert. These barren lands with little to no vegetation. was now all they had. They were forced to become nomads going from one place to the next to find water and food. Learning tricks on how to survive the desert heat, and live in this new land.
During their time as nomads, they ventured into the lands of the Easterlings. It was a time of great drought and famine. They had settled in Rhun, and desperately need tools and supplies. The Easterlings at this time where unable to give them what the needed. It was then that they found trade with dale. In dale they remembered their teachings by the men of Gondor, and learned that their are those in the north that may be worth trusting.
When they returned to their homeland, they returned stronger than they were before. After setting up a system of emissaries to continue relations with it's new found allies, trade began to flourish. With a system in place power could now grow, and it did. They were now gathering their forces, and preparing for their return. The time they spent in the desert morphed them into a new people. A people influenced by the ideas of the Gondorians. All the while developing a deep hatred for the people of Gondor. These Haradrim were angry how the Gondorians had turned their own kin against them.
With a fortress in a large oasis in the desert. They have gathered their might and power against Gondor. They do this not in service to any nation, but independent from all. Now is the time of the Men of the Red Desert to rise.
