I was surprised about a week ago when I found that TOR actually had more players than the Official. I decided to check out how it was doing, and was even more surprised when I realized that all of my old stuff still existed. Not only did it exist, but it was actually protected.
So I started talking to the current ~Sauron, seeing what all happened around TOR during my 4-month absence. Unfortunately, someone was attempting to kill him at the time, which made conversation complicated. I FT'd to the waypoint closest to him in godmith, but apparently the assailant had left.
He needed help fixing the gates at Barad-dûr, so I tried to help. I still had all of my permissions, so I was working through commands and such in gmc trying to get the gates to work. It was around this time that the assailant returned. I got into gms and tried to kill him, but incidentally my PVP was disabled from 4 months ago—I couldn't damage him and he couldn't damage me. I quickly turned on my PVP and he was able to damage me again (1/2 a heart), which was quickly followed by his death.
Seeing that the fight was over, I got back into gmc to start working on the gates again—that is, until I was shortly thereafter perm-banned without warning.
I don't expect to keep my permissions. I just wanted to build among the community again. Thank you for being considerate in reading this, and I hope that this is all a misunderstanding that will shortly be resolved.

You used permissions you shouldn't have had to do something you shouldn't have had access to, and I think you know that. After you noticed you still had player perms you should have notified staff instead of abusing them. I was on the server, active in chat, so I find it unlikely you couldn't have done so.
As for the PvP, if there was an issue related to that, you should have informed a staff member instead of, again, using permissions you shouldn't have had to do something you shouldn't have had access to.
The ban will remain intact.
