(If you have forgotten feel free to ask)      QUESTIONS:  What are some examples of your leadership and/or teamwork experiences? Whether in a real world setting or an online one, I make an effort to put my best foot forward and help improve the experience of everyone around me. Whether this situation is working on a build project with friends or helping review a peer’s writing.  What do you excel at? I am familiar with World Edit and do well building inside of Minecraft. Outside of Minecraft I consider myself a decent writer, and runner.  How familiar are you with the Lord of the Rings mod? I have been playing the LOTR mod for two and a half years now, and have been playing on TOR for most of that. I would be very surprised if I was missing anything inside of the mod. What is an example of personal growth you have done recently? I have always been a bit anti-social, but recently I have made an effort to be less of a recluse.  What is your role in the community, currently? Currently I spend my days on TOR building, grinding and preparing for things to come. I am always doing my best to involve myself in events and repair my reputation in the community. Reflect upon how actively you chat and interact with other players in the community, in addition think about the topics that come up; is it TOR related or on a more personal scale? I am not always online and have been struggling to find the time in my day to be as active as I once was, but as previously stated I am very focused on elevating my reputation on TOR. In conversation some topics that come up include: building, factions, and of course The Walking Dead and how stupid it was to make Negan likable in the end.    The last time you found yourself in a disagreement with another player, how did you approach it? I wouldn’t say I have ever really been in a disagreement with another player over anything outside of light hearted PVP situations (at least, they were in my mind sorry anyone who did not share this feeling). Naturally, not everything is perfect on TOR; what do you think needs improvement? This is one thing that has not changed since my original application. I feel TOR and the LOTR mod in general are very complicated. This makes it difficult for new players to get invested in the server as a whole, and I have seen many players give up due to confusion and a lack of direction (in the beginning of the game). Foxtra has previously given an answer to my suggestions of a designated place for new players to find guides, saying “Ey, we already got a channel to share vids on Its called tor content and if you scroll up you can even find past guides on gear creation”. To finally respond to this message (about a year later) I would like to make the argument that TOR media isn’t the easiest place to find information especially now that pictures are posted there (sure took my time thinking up a response). Lastly, what motivates you to continue playing and to apply to the staff team? TOR is a wonderful community made up of the least toxic people I have ever met on the internet, with some of the most creative builders I have ever known. I would like to be a part of it and help it grow and thrive in any way I can. Also….. /fly.  PS. Some guides I was thinking of include Sharmir's lovely guide, and one from a more dubious source.

A long time ago the first dwarves rose in the north of the Misty Mountains and from there many dwarven Kingdoms grew over time around the world. They prospered and our craftsmanship was known and valued by all. But tragedy struck and we lost Gundabad to armies of orcs, Khazad-dum, you may know it under the name of Moria, to Durin’s Bane. And with the strongest settlements fallen, the Misty Mountains were overrun. But thanks to Tharkun, Durin’ Bane is defeated and with losing battles near Erebor and a rising Arnor the Orcs in Gundabad are weakened. Dwarves of the mountains unite and gather south of Mount Methedras in the new city of Dum-Azgal! Introduction IGN: mortinshart Discord: medakh Timezone: MTN When you started playing: 2018-2019 Time played on the server: 850h Age: 19 Questions What are some examples of your leadership and/or teamwork experiences? I am currently employed at a local restaurant as a chef de partie. This role has helped me face leadership with more confidence. This position has me running a section of the kitchen and its team, I am extremely fortunate to work with such talented chefs, I have learned so much by working alongside them and I believe this job has greatly developed both my leadership and teamwork skills.  What do you excel at? IRL I would like to consider myself a talented chef (with a lot to learn). I'm a talented skier and I am a member of a race team. I design clothing and other related things alongside friends. I was a member of my province's swim team although I now just swim for fun. TOR Related I am a confident builder, with that I've grown comfortable using tools such as World Edit and MC Edit. I enjoy PVP and through my enjoyment I've grown okay at it. As someone who has been playing on TOR for nearly 6 years I have a good understanding of its structure and its rules.  How familiar are you with the Lord of the Rings mod? I am quite familiar with the mod I've been playing it through different servers for 8 years.  What is an example of personal growth you have done recently? Through work I've become pals with people I wouldn't hang out with typically, and over the past few months of hanging out with them I've grown better and putting myself in other people's shoes, accepting different perspectives and not judging at face value quite so much. What is your role in the community, currently? As someone who's been playing TOR for a while I try to help out new players by offering valuable tips, giving them a head start, and trying to help them enjoy TOR, this both helps the server and the player in question. I'm also pretty yoinked in the cash department so sometimes I hand valuables out to whoever is on.   The last time you found yourself in a disagreement with another player, how did you approach it? The last time I found myself disagreeing with another player, was due to me killing a player and the rest of the online players at the time disagreeing with said kill. I handled the situation wrong i jumped into the moshpit and became a bit of a keyboard warrior, instead of arguing I should have just ignored it and informed staff. Naturally, not everything is perfect on TOR; what do you think needs improvement? Most if not all of the changes I would make to TOR are PVP related, for two reasons A) It's the area of the game i'm most interested in and B) it's the area of the game that involves the most conflict. The first change I would like to see involves lore items, in my opinion one of the most interesting features on TOR. I would revert back to the old lore item system where 1 major would require you to turn on map location, I believe this would accelerate the rate of circulation as it would increase the amount of pvp between lore item holders, I would also remove the expiration on lore items at the time this change was made I advocated it but TOR is in a much different place now and I would like to see lore items regain their value. Lastly, what motivates you to continue playing and to apply to the staff team? I started playing TOR when I was 14 I am now turning 20 it has served as an escape as a hobby through different periods of my life, while I am of the opinion that video games are not the healthiest, for me TOR is the exception it has offered me so much and I wish to give back and contribute as much as I can.
