What are some examples of your leadership and/or teamwork experiences?
I am currently employed at a local restaurant as a chef de partie. This role has helped me face leadership with more confidence. This position has me running a section of the kitchen and its team, I am extremely fortunate to work with such talented chefs, I have learned so much by working alongside them and I believe this job has greatly developed both my leadership and teamwork skills.
What do you excel at?
IRL
I would like to consider myself a talented chef (with a lot to learn).
I'm a talented skier and I am a member of a race team.
I design clothing and other related things alongside friends.
I was a member of my province's swim team although I now just swim for fun.
TOR Related
I am a confident builder, with that I've grown comfortable using tools such as World Edit and MC Edit.
I enjoy PVP and through my enjoyment I've grown okay at it.
As someone who has been playing on TOR for nearly 6 years I have a good understanding of its structure and its rules.
How familiar are you with the Lord of the Rings mod?
I am quite familiar with the mod I've been playing it through different servers for 8 years.
What is an example of personal growth you have done recently?
Through work I've become pals with people I wouldn't hang out with typically, and over the past few months of hanging out with them I've grown better and putting myself in other people's shoes, accepting different perspectives and not judging at face value quite so much.
What is your role in the community, currently?
As someone who's been playing TOR for a while I try to help out new players by offering valuable tips, giving them a head start, and trying to help them enjoy TOR, this both helps the server and the player in question.
I'm also pretty yoinked in the cash department so sometimes I hand valuables out to whoever is on.
The last time you found yourself in a disagreement with another player, how did you approach it?
The last time I found myself disagreeing with another player, was due to me killing a player and the rest of the online players at the time disagreeing with said kill. I handled the situation wrong i jumped into the moshpit and became a bit of a keyboard warrior, instead of arguing I should have just ignored it and informed staff.
Naturally, not everything is perfect on TOR; what do you think needs improvement?
Most if not all of the changes I would make to TOR are PVP related, for two reasons A) It's the area of the game i'm most interested in and B) it's the area of the game that involves the most conflict. The first change I would like to see involves lore items, in my opinion one of the most interesting features on TOR. I would revert back to the old lore item system where 1 major would require you to turn on map location, I believe this would accelerate the rate of circulation as it would increase the amount of pvp between lore item holders, I would also remove the expiration on lore items at the time this change was made I advocated it but TOR is in a much different place now and I would like to see lore items regain their value.
Lastly, what motivates you to continue playing and to apply to the staff team?
I started playing TOR when I was 14 I am now turning 20 it has served as an escape as a hobby through different periods of my life, while I am of the opinion that video games are not the healthiest, for me TOR is the exception it has offered me so much and I wish to give back and contribute as much as I can.
