The current rams that we use in sieges have a single major flaw, the obsidian that is used around the orc bomb blocks attackers from using the new entrance hole they've made.
I suggest using cobblestone instead, as the ram will be completely destroyed with the blast with minimal damage to structures.

To have a big obsidian square blocking the gate? That completely destroys the point of using a ram in the first place...
