A whie ago I found this. It is a wiki site for our server, which was discontinued about two years back. I am wondering if you guys think it is worth reviving. If we were to revive it, we could use it as a database about every faction on the server, which can be used to educate new (and old) players on the server about the current situation. It would take a lot of work to do this, and I could not do it on my own, though I know quite a bit about the wiki. Arguments could be made that the wiki page we have on the lotr wiki is enough, but I want to see the communities opinion. So now for decision time: should we revive the old wiki?

The Facebook page is basically unused, since Enjin replaced it. Given the size of the lotr mod wiki page, we can only have so much information ... Enjin could possibly do this, but not to the extent of what the wiki could do.
I see what you mean. If you need any help, let me know. There aren't many old players on TOR left who remember anything that happened.

The point of reviving the wiki was not to take away to any of the other pages. The Facebook page is basically unused, since Enjin replaced it. Given the size of the lotr mod wiki page, we can only have so much information. The main purpose (or at least what I thought it should be for) was to keep a good history of the server in such a manner that it wouldn't get lost. As has been mentioned histories kept only in books re too easily lost. Enjin could possibly do this, but not to the extent of what the wiki could do.

The wiki page was created over a year ago. This movement was to revive it, not to start a new one.
"New" as in not currently in use—another facet to manage that we weren't managing before. At the moment, TOR actively manages the mod wiki page, the Facebook page, and the Enjin page.
My only problem with it is that (currently) we have to check three different sites for updates. Picking up the wiki again would create a fourth site. With all the links and websites (not including the two abandoned TOR websites from lalamalkin), there's almost no convenient way to get information.
If you think a wiki page is the best way to go, then so be it. Again, I fully support we record history. I just think there's a way we can do this without adding yet another page to our management list. It would be best if we could keep all of our information on the same database.

I'm not supporting we create yet another wiki page, but I definitely think we should compile a history. TOR has at least 5 websites and forums from the past. Adding one more is overkill—especially when the Mod Wiki already has server info.
However, I am in full support of compiling a history. If you want to compile a history and database, you should get an Admin to stick a Forum Thread somewhere on Enjin with links to online sources like Google Docs or Word Online. Previously, we had players record history with the books in MC. The problem is, these books are easily lost. I'm the only one I know who still has most of them—which is why I suggest we use online sources like I did when I wrote Mordor's history half a year ago. In this particular example, I also attached sublinks to images and videos to give the reader a better idea of what was going on.
15055104 is right. And there's a lot of history that a ton of people don't know about.
Hope that helps,~Purity22

I think that this isn't something we should put effort into. We already have forums, we just need to use it better.
