Faction: None Reason for ban: Disrespect, faction hopping, and illegal waypoints Time banned for: Perma Date banned: 9/11/2024
Reason for appeal: Hello TOR Staff and I hope you are doing well, I'm going to divide this appeal into three parts: one for each of the ban reasons mentioned. Disrespect: I would just like to start this off by saying that my actions on TOR for the previous days were not meant to cause disrespect to anyone. I did not intend to make any feel hurt or offended by my actions; because at the end of the day this is a Minecraft server, it should be fun for everyone. I did not mean to anger anybody through my in-game physical interactions such as PVP as well as chat interactions on the server. I would like to apologize not just to staff but also the players who felt I disrespected them. My actions were drawn from a simple desire to have fun on this server and not to belittle or hurt anyone. I understand that making disrespectful jokes is no better than being disrespectful to begin with. I understand additionally that I made mistakes with my choices and understand that it was completely my fault for acting toxic, disrespectful, and rude at times. It won't happen again. Faction hopping: From my understanding this was the majority factor in the decision of my ban. I would like to preface this by stating I had no intentions whatsoever of breaking the rules and ruining a build for another player through my TPA to him. I understand that changing my faction to an enemy's and using this for TPAs as well as general impersonation is fully exploiting the rules and exploiting other player's judgement to my advantage. At the time I considered this to be a "gray area" of the rules and as such did not intend to actually break this rule. However, I now realize this was a poor judgement call as I should have looked beyond the obvious definition of faction hopping and rather looked at the context of the rule. I am mainly referring to the "gaining benefits" portion. Clearly, by changing my nickname and faction to another player, I am gaining an unfair advantage and as such breaking the rules. I would like to extend my apologies to the player which I had caused a permanent mark on through my exploitation as well. I did not mean to ruin the experience for somebody else. I did not mean to cause hard work and hours to go to waste as he lost the secrecy of the build to me, an exploiter and rule breaker. I include both the nickname changes and the faction title changes in this sentiment as both are completely not okay and result in frustration and anger for the unfortunate victims of my stupidity. Illegal waypoints: I have no context or reasoning behind my decision to create not just one but multiple illegal waypoints within the 1k blocks of other builds. They were a series of poor judgement calls due to my ignorance of this rule and the laziness to move away from builds before placing these custom waypoints. Ignorance is not a defense and as such I take full responsibility for my actions in creating these waypoints. I ultimately meant no harm with these custom waypoints, and I extend my apologies to anyone who may have felt the blowback of these decisions. I understand why the rule is in place and I completely understand why custom waypoints result in negative interactions on the server as a whole. Once again, I did not mean to undo anybody's hard work through the creation of these waypoints and as such hope I can be forgiven for this. My final sentiment for this ban appeal is this: I am sorry for my actions and the ban reasons listed are completely justifiable and correlate with the rules. I can see my sheer stupidity and I can see my horrific disregard for these rules through my actions and decisions and as such I have no excuse for these. My actions were wrong, and I extend an apology to everybody who suffered the consequences of my actions as well as the staff who had to deal with my unfortunate rule breaking with their valued time and effort. P.S. Thank you Mido for responding for my ticket created shortly after the ban. I appreciate the explanation and professionalism, and I am sorry if I came across as rude or impatient when addressing you or other staff. I was frustrated with the ban and as such let that cloud my judgement. Regards, socthemat
Happy to see you've reflected and have taken responsibility for your actions. We believe your further interactions will only be positive contributions to TOR. Ban reduced to 28 days starting from the punishment date. Don't let it happen again.
